Patrick says "It's all about feeling the music. Once you have a feel for the music's idiom, you can create sounds like an artist uses paintbrushes to capture the beauty of a mountain or forest glade. You can be technical and play all the right notes but if you don't feel the music, it is lifeless. How does one accomplish this? Having fun when you practice and practicing a lot."

Patrick is 21 years old and has been playing fiddle for 14 years and been studying classical violin for 16 years and is in grade 8 in the Royal Conservatory Program. Patrick is a Champion Old Time Fiddler and usually comes in the top three in any fiddle contests. He currently competes in the Open Competition category in the old time fiddling circuit. Pat was nominated by the BC Old Time Fiddle Association to represent BC at the Canadian Grandmaster's Competition in Nepean Ontario in August, 2005. On July 24, 2004, Patrick came in third in the Open Category in the BC Provincial Fiddling Championships. On May 16, 2003, Patrick won second place in the B.C. Provincial Championship Fiddling Category in Abbotsford, BC. On June 15, 2002, Patrick won third place in the Open category again. Christopher and Patrick also won fourth place in the Twin Fiddling Category which was open to all ages in 2004.

There have been other honors in the past too for the family members. Patrick won fifth place in the Junior-Junior category in the Saskatchewan Provincial Fiddling Championship held in Govan. In 1996, Chris and Pat won first and second place respectively in the novice fiddling category in the Western Canada Bluegrass Fiddling Championship held in Chilliwack, B.C. In 1997, Patrick won third place in the novice category in the Western Canada Bluegrass Championship. There have been many other first, second and third place trophies for Patrick at the various contests throughout the province over the last three years!

Patrick's hobbies are playing bass and stand up bass, violin with the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra and rock and roll, jazz, blues and slide guitar on his Seagull guitar. He enjoys talking with friends on MSN Messenger. He is currently in his third year at the University of Victoria studying music and computers and aspires to be a music teacher or record producer.
